Anesthesia
The majority of plastic surgery patients are treated with
either general anesthesia or a combination of local anesthesia
and sedation. Of course, this can vary depending on the degree
of surgery. The ultimate choice, however, will be based on
the patient’s comfort level and the surgeon and anesthesiologist’s
preference for safety.
When it is, in fact, necessary that an anesthesiologist
be present, anesthesia fees will be applied toward the total
cost of surgery. These fees can vary between geographical
regions and type of surgery, but may range from about $350
- $800.
You should discuss your anesthesia options thoroughly at
your consultation with the surgeon, revealing any health
conditions and safety or financial concerns.
